Business plans and financial analysis
We assess how viable, stable and profitable a company, business unit or project is. From the data we prepare a report and give you our recommendations for what to improve.
We write business plans around your goals and map the risks in the business you already run.
Financial analysis
Analyzing your financial statements covers:
- Profitability (including your costing system and analytics)
- Long-term health (analysis of assets and liabilities)
- Solvency (cash flow management)
- How investments are recorded and how they affect your financial statements and profitability
- A cash flow forecast based on existing data or data you provide, and more
Business plan
There is no set format for a business plan, but over time a convention has emerged for what it should contain:
- The business idea and model
- Product or service
- Target customers and market
- Management
- Team, staff and partners
- Competition
- SWOT analysis
- Sources of funding
The first part of the plan presents the business model, sets out the long-term and short-term goals, assesses what it will take to reach them and the state of the market, and analyzes investments and funding.
The second part is the financial forecasts:
- Forecast income statement (for the chosen period, usually 3–5 years)
- Forecast balance sheet (for the chosen period, usually 3–5 years)
- Forecast cash flow statement (for the chosen period, usually 3–5 years)
The forecasts rest on the sales forecast and an analysis of your products and services: how much you can produce, source and sell in a given period (a day, a week, a month, a year), the selling price, and the markup or cost percentage.
Business plans are written for different purposes:
- To apply for a start-up grant for a new company
- To apply for funding from EAS or another foundation
- To test a new business model
- To assess the company's profitability or long-term health (for example, to bring in partners)
- To plan riskier investments or ventures, and more
Risk assessment
- Risks in your sales (including cash flow, i.e. how likely you are to get paid; background checks on partners; tax risks, etc.)
- Risks in your investments (including their effect on your financial statements, the state of the market, tax risks, etc.)
- Working sessions to assess the risks in your business
Advisory
- Whether and how to carry on the business
- Winding down or restructuring the business
- Changing the business model
- Assessing risks, and more
